The helicopter gunner is one of the most powerful roles in the whole
game. A combination of a good pilot and gunner will seriously influence the results of a match
every time. This guide has been wriiten by
What are the helis?
There are three different attack helis in battlefield 2. The USMC have the AH-1Z (left) MEC have
the Mi-28 Havok (middle) and Chineese have the WiZ-10 (right) Although they all look different,
for the purpose of this passenger gunner guide they are all pretty much the same.

Before you get in the helicopter
I recommend that you pick Engineer, or Support as a heli gunner, so that you can repair/re-arm the
helicopter (if it lands), and repair others team members whilst hovering. If the pilot is and Engineer
also, he can repair other friendlies on the battlefield quickly. The other kits are useless when playing
in the gunner role. Communication with your pilot is very important. You should join into a squad with your
pilot or invite him to your own squad. Always use the voice comms to alert your pilot of enemy threats.
Ok so your in the air, what now?
Keep yours eyes wide open at all times. Use the camera view to see behind you and warn your pilot of any approaching danger.
Concentrate on what the pilot is doing at all times if he is hovering still nowhere near a flag he is lining you up for a wire
guided missle shot. Be aware of this and ready to shoot the target he is aiming for. Your wire guided missiles are the most
powerful weapon in battlefield 2 and will kill any vehicle in the game with one good hit. Whilst waiting for your missle to
reload (about 10 seconds) switch to your machine gun and start wiping out the troops on the ground. Spot every enemy for your
pilot, if he can see the location on his mini map the task is a whole lot easier.
Control your BF2 Wire guided missiles
When in the heli gunner position right click to swith to missle view. Now move the white cross to your chosen target and left
click to fire. Now you can see what the missile see's as it travels. To change missile direction whilst in flight move your
cross again and re-click the fire button to change to the desired course. The missile will fly for around 3 seconds before it
explodes on its own, and it flies fast so you have to be quick with those direction changes.
Ready to go
With your new knowledge you are ready to go into battle. Remember choose your pilot carefully he is your key to success
Happy shooting soldiers!
